Gruntled: The Art of the Hustle
October 2025: A Course by Comedian & Happiness Consultant Rajiv Satyal
I’m super excited to tell you about my upcoming course.
Call to Action: I’ll get right to the point. The one thing I hope you do is sign up for my FREE webinar, taking place at 1 PM PT this coming Tuesday, October 14.
During the webinar, I’ll explain what’s on the rest of this page. If you can’t make it, please read on…
This is what my course offers you: I will help you achieve your personal and professional goals.
This is not DIY (Do It Yourself). This is DWY (Done With You).
After years of presenting this topic, I’ve learned that what’s preventing you from being happier isn’t the economy or the world at-large (well, maybe some of that) but rather frustration derived from chasing society’s goals. You might’ve lost sight of what matters to you.
Our objective is a happier version of yourself. We’ll do this by helping you define and achieve goals important to you, such as:
More time with your loved ones.
More money.
More energy/capacity.
Switch to a new career.
Start your own business.
Lose weight.
Whatever your “next level” looks like.
You might’ve heard me discuss two things:
Gruntled: My speech about happiness, and of course, the name of my Substack.
The Art of the Hustle: The system I developed that enables you to keep the commitments you make to yourself.
I just presented these talks for the second straight year at STEM Connect. So, when you click that link above to sign up, never mind the branding. This course is open to EVERYBODY.
The biggest question I’ve received over the course of the last 20 years is: “How the heck did you go from an engineer in Ohio to an entertainer in California?” The answer is the method I can teach you.
Testimonials
“💡 The Art of the Hustle: The accomplished engineer-turned-comedian Rajiv Satyal reminded us of the power of deprioritization. We must focus on our top meaningful roles and goals and relentlessly deprioritize the distractions. His blend of insight, humor, and personal stories was incredibly refreshing.”
— Maria Rogers, GE Aerospace HR Leader
“I had this awesome opportunity to attend a professional development session (SASE: STEM Connect 2025) featuring Rajiv Satyal! If you don’t know him, he is a man of multiple talents:) a cool comedian and an amazing speaker!”
— Vaibhav Tawde, GE Aerospace Business Growth & Strategy Leader
What happens during the webinar? I will present a few slides from my talk, discuss how audiences have processed the info, and answer questions from you.
The webinar is a launching point for the course itself. I’m running the course three times.
The official six-week course begins on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, and costs $1,250.
Before that, though, I’m going to run two four-week sprints for those of you who don’t want to wait that long. (Perhaps you want to get a head start on your New Year’s Resolutions.) The four-week sprints will be condensed versions of the six-week course in February. If you can’t attend at these times, you can watch the recordings.
As such, two numbers are relevant for the four-week sprints:
There are ten (10) slots. First ten people to send in a deposit get a spot.
$750 for the entire 4-week course. It’ll never be this cost-effective again.
1st 4-Week Sprint — One-hour Zoom meetings @ 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET:
Tuesday, October 21.
Tuesday, November 4.
Tuesday, November 11.
Tuesday, November 18.
2nd 4-Week Sprint — One-hour Zoom meetings @ 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET:
Friday, January 13.
Friday, January 20.
Friday, January 27.
Friday, February 6.
This Is for You If You’re…
An ambitious person who wants sustained happiness while performing at a high level.
Analytical, driven, and tired of burning out or chasing moving goalposts.
Ready to replace overwhelm with intention.
Not into Rex Kwon Do.
How Will We Do It?
We’ll use my operating system that empowers you to execute each of those ideal behaviors every single day.
We’ll “go slow to go fast.” We know self-improvement doesn’t happen overnight.
We’ll share our progress with each other: successes, failures, “human moments” to which we can all relate (“OMG, that’s so me”). Hence the limit of ten people: individualized attention.
We’ll use weekly live sessions, featuring breakouts that allow both commiseration and courage, clear assignments, handouts, and accountability tools (polls, worksheets, and the “don’t‑break‑the‑chain” Hustle calendar).
Course Outcomes
By the end, you will be able to:
Raise your Happiness Quotient by increasing the numerator (how you perceive and act) and decreasing the denominator (unhelpful assumptions).
Communicate with clarity and strengthen relationships.
Make cleaner, faster decisions.
Align purpose, goals, and time.
Foster creativity and innovation.
Lead yourself with clarity and purpose.
Execute consistently using The Art of the Hustle method.
